HUB REDESIGN
Fall Guys is a free-to-play platform battle royale game developed by Mediatonic.

Challenge
Observation
Despite their casual nature, free-to-play games are complex, with many systems for rewards, events, and challenges. With all these moving parts, a game's interface can be difficult to understand and navigate, especially for new players.
Why?
There's more competition than ever for fun casual games. A game's first impression and new player experience are vital for creating a positive experience the player will return to.
The ability to gate features to introduce complexity over time prevents new players from feeling overwhelmed. Reducing the amount of visual clutter also allows designers to create more impactful moments of achievement and progression.

Goal
Design a new interface that's friendlier for new players while maintaining the essential information for experienced players.

Solution
Small screen friendly redesign focusing on modular elements
All major screen changes now occur via a tab system, eliminating floating buttons and creating a consistent look for controls that change the state or input focus of the menu.
Information displays have been simplified to eliminate small text and are focused on displaying a singular value or progression.
Pieces of the UI are more independent, can be collapsed, removed for a cleaner interface, new player experience, or parental controls.
